After a top ten fly, the following one is only bonus. The weather is cloudy this afternoon, a cunimb even seems to grow above Teignmouth. I follow carefully Dan, Fix, Patrice and Alain, enjoying crossing the Exe river above Exmouth. Not enough light to take good pictures, I decided to go back when a sun ray appear on a green valley. Maybe less than 10 mn to make some photos and I turned back, affraid by the big cloud allways growing and the black clouds covering now the landing aera.

After a good rest in my tent, picked in the quiet camp sight of Saint Johns Farm, could you imagine my happiness discovering a great blue sky, promissing a great fly above the Dartmoor National Park ? Excitment is in everybody's head. We are the first on the field at 7.5 am. When Dan, Rupert and Richard arrive, tea is drunk and engines are running.
We all take off easily, even Rupert the newbie.
Almost 2 hours following Dan on his speedy trike above the Exe river, the green fields, the barns, the black cows. Then appears the stones, no more trees, only a mineral landscape where you expect to see a dinosaur ! A wonderful light is illuminating the place. A real dream, that kind of seconds I'm flying for.
The following of the journey is a bit more pumpy, not enough to waste the joy I'm feeling.
After we land, smiles are on everybodies face. This trip t England was a risky bet ? We deserve a fly like this one !

On sunday, it's Sunday Roast at Dart's farm, espacially for starving french pilots. A beer and a plate, do you know better way to discover each other ?
It's early in the afternoon, thermics are exploding in the sky, but never mind, 8 pilots take off to visit the coast between Exmouth and Sidmouth. Unfortunatly for the photograph I intend to be, the shy sun hide behind the clouds.
I go back to the landing aera, hoping a new fly later in the afternoon.
Is it my new wing, a BILLY from ITV combined with my new PM or the fatigue of the trip ? At 6 pm, as everybody take off again for a long fly on the coast, I'm unable to inflate correctly my wing. I give up after 3 tries, thinking that it would be stupid to break something the first day of the journey !

Hi, welcome to the englishmens visiting this site. If you're here, you surely heard about the story of those 5 boys in the wind who make a great tour in south GB during august 2015. Everything began in may 2015, during a meal between friends in Toulouse, around a good bottle of wine...as usual in France ;-)
Patrice, Alain and I decided to go to England, visiting our friend Fix, living in Bristol since july 2014. The plan is quiet simple : a ferry in Ouistreham, arriving in Portsmouth. Then we'll go to Cornwall...or everywhere else the sun is shinning. Fix join us by car. We "only" asked to find few fields to practice our passion.
As we use to say in France "happiness never come's alone" : 3 brand new machines will follow us, the TREX from RULTRALIGHT, full titanium frame and MOSTER SILENT powerfull engine.
Of course, booking a trip a 4 days trip in GB 3 month before in order to fly with paramotor is a risky bet ! There's certainly a god for paramotorists : the sun was shinning bright on the port of Portsmouth this 16th of August.
Surfing the net, Fix found a guy in Exeter, ready to meet those 5 frenchmens, Dan BURTON. As I said earlier, happiness never come's alone, so Rupert BURTON and Richard WHITMARSH accompanied Dan.
2h30 driving after a night on the floor of the boat, trying to sleep are not enough to stop 5 boys in the wind.
A first fly of 18 mn to discover the Exe river and England's sky, one small leap for mankind, one great fly for me ;-)
